Laying out the subfields and fundamentals of AI.

This week’s video is a breakdown of artificial intelligence into its subfields. In a previous video, I talked about one of the big misconceptions of the ChatGPT moment: a view held by many newcomers to the field that all of AI is just variations on ChatGPT, Midjourney, and similarly massive neural networks. I explained how AI is much more akin to medicine — a sprawling field divided into many subfields, each with its own experts and problems. And I promised to map those subfields in a future video.
